Sharing Christ in Nepal

Our friend and partner, Batsal, has been continuing to minister across Nepal.

One of the most powerful moments of Batsal’s recent journey to the north came when he encountered a woman who had fled her abusive husband with her two small children. She wandered through the snowy mountain trails, desperately begging villagers for food. Her legs and eyes bore the cruel marks of the freezing cold, and she carried nothing but despair. Yet, when she heard the Gospel, something extraordinary happened – she declared her belief in Christ, embracing a hope she had never known before.

For three years, Batsal has been discipling a man who has since grown into a passionate evangelist. When they first met, this man had already spent 22 years in church, yet the true Gospel had never fully taken root in his heart. But once the truth gripped him, he became unstoppable in sharing it. Just recently, he shared the message of Christ with a policeman, who now stands on the threshold of faith, eager to believe. Hallelujah!

In a remote village, Batsal had the privilege of sharing a meal with a dear sister who first came to faith after hearing the gospel from a now 82 year old evangelist. Batsal was able to show her a picture of this evangelist and when she saw his picture, tears welled in her eyes as she reflected on God’s faithfulness. Yet, sorrow lingered in her heart – her husband remained resistant to the Lord. He had been bedridden for six months, his condition seemingly hopeless, until the local church lifted him in prayer. Miraculously, God healed him. For a time, he attended church, but later, he turned away and even forced his wife to sell alcohol in the area. Praise God that Batsal and his team were able to share the gospel with him once more. Pray that the seeds planted in his heart would one day bear fruit.

A day was spent at the hospital with a young girl named Ritu and her mother. They had travelled to Batsal’s medical outreach in search of help for Ritu’s severe limb condition. By God’s providence, Batsal and his team found a hospital in Kathmandu that could treat her. As they made arrangements, her mother shared that, seven years ago, they had visited this same hospital but were unable to afford the follow–up treatment. She had kept the medical file all these years, its pages stained by the smoke of their mountain hut, a silent testament to their unyielding hope. Now, by God’s grace, Ritu had been admitted for treatment. Batsal prays for her physical and spiritual healing, trusting in the Lord’s provision for their journey.

God is at work in Nepal. He is healing, restoring, and drawing people to Himself. Every village, every home, and every heart reached is a testament to His faithfulness. Pray with us for Batsal as he continues to serve the Lord in this land.
